Day 7 - Weigh In

I'm a big fan of solid, steady numbers, but I've since learned with ducklings that nothing is ever solid. Or steady.

Day 6 - First week measure-up!

Happy 6th day! Almost one full week old! I think it's time to do a quick little measure up to see how big they're getting.

Day 3 - Good bye Sisters!

Today a nice lady on a large farm responded to my craigslist ad and took away all 8 of the extra ducklings I had. I'm so happy for them - they'll be on a farm with 3 drakes and 3 turkeys.

Day 2.5 - The ducklings arrive!

I ordered 10 ducklings from Metzer's Farms in California with the intention of selling 8 of them. It costs about $60 to purchase and ship 2 ducklings, but $75 to purchase and ship 10. I figured that I live near Seattle, owning ducks is the sort of thing that Seattlites do and it shouldn't be too hard to sell them.

I paid for them to get "Nutri-grow" gel as well - and the gel was empty by the time they got there. It also had some grassy bedding.
